My research is intended to create a useable model of digital fiction, that will encourage teachers and students to explore all areas of fine art including, media, digital and fine art skills. It is particularly focused at students on vocational art courses. It is not just the form of digitalis fiction, but also the function, that will enable this research to be fulfilled. This research will seek to create a model for use by others, but my research will also create a final piece of work, in the style of digital fiction, that has aesthetic value as well as an independent piece of art. ​

 

 

​Does it matter that Vocational Art and Design courses often do not explore, digital art practices. By their very definition these vocational qualifications are not always a pathway to higher education. Therefore there is the expectation that these qualifications are work related or work based. Without exploration of the digital and media world these learners can be said to have limited experience suitable for the workplace.

​

I see the potential of digital Fiction to be incorporated into the pedagogic frame that meets the needs of the students as well as the demands of the specification. Therefore the work takes up a duel position as a stand-alone work and a pedagogical model. I have a particular experience in this work as I both teach and externally verify these qualifications.

       The BTEC qualifications in this specification are QCF level 3 qualifications designed to provide highly specialist, work-related qualifications in a range of vocational sectors. They give learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that they need to prepare for employment.
